Voices of Poverty
The NCW is pleased to add a link on its website to a series of video clips about poverty by the people who are living it. They were produced for an event in the autumn of 2007 to promote strategies to solve poverty. The NCW helped support the creation of the videos as part of its efforts to enable low-income Canadians to be heard.
These short video portraits echo what we heard from the thousands of Canadians who responded to our on-line questionnaire on Poverty and Insecurity in late 2006 as well as the many letters, phone calls and e-mails we get regularly from across Canada. Whatever you think about poverty, what you hear might give you second thoughts.
