This report provides estimated total welfare income of four households in each province and territory: a single employable person, a single person with a disability, a lone parent with one child and a couple with two children. The report compares welfare incomes to the poverty line, average incomes and median incomes. It also provides data on welfare incomes as far back as 1986, and highlights the losses incurred by most households since welfare incomes peaked in the early 1990s.
